The Global Research department is where theory meets practice. Our financial analysts dive deep into the complexities of financial analysis and gain hands-on experience in Equity and Markets Research, producing reports for clients. Throughout valuable training, we provide the tools required to become ready for a competitive financial labor market, so that the students of today become the high-quality financial analysts of tomorrow.

Sub-departments

  • Equity Research — The Equity Research team focuses on Company Valuation, Financial Statement Analysis, Sector Coverage and Investment Thesis Construction, combining detailed modeling with fundamental judgment. Through projects such as DCF analyses, sector analyses, earnings reviews and research notes produced for clients, members gain exposure to institutional research standards and the discipline of defending a price target.
  • Markets Research — The Markets Research team focuses on Equities, Fixed Income, FX and Commodities, combining cross-asset analysis with clear written argument. Through projects such as market articles, thematic notes and event-driven commentary, members gain exposure to the forces moving prices across asset classes and the standards of publishable financial writing.

Role progression

Equity Research

  1. Analyst — The development role, part of a team alongside 2-3 other analysts and a Team Leader.
  2. Team Leader — Responsible for the development of members, task assignment, and delivery of an Equity Research report.
  3. Head — Responsible for the overall quality of Equity Research reports, team organization, equity screening, and clients.
  4. Listener — Responsible for the quality checking the Equity Research reports and models. Gives feedback on presentations and work produced. Position usually held by Directors and Alumni.
